Tamasha, Pakistan’s leading homegrown OTT video streaming and entertainment platform, is gearing up to deliver HD live streaming of the highly anticipated Pakistan Super League 2024 (PSL 9) matches to cricket enthusiasts across the country. Through the Tamasha mobile app, fans can now relish HD live coverage of all the action-packed PSL 9 games.

In a recent signing ceremony held in Islamabad, Tamasha secured digital broadcasting rights for PSL 9 through a collaboration with Walee Technologies leadership. This strategic move ensures that millions of Pakistanis can access HD live streaming of all PSL 9 matches directly on their smartphones, irrespective of their network.

Expressing his excitement about this development, Aamer Ejaz, Chief Digital Officer at Jazz, remarked, “Tamasha is poised to deliver high-definition live streaming of yet another thrilling PSL season, catering to the enduring passion of millions of Pakistani cricket fans. I extend my sincere gratitude to our users for making Tamasha their preferred platform, not only for cricket but also for a diverse array of sports, news, movies, originals, and digital entertainment. I anticipate that the upcoming PSL season will set new benchmarks and elevate Pakistan’s digital entertainment landscape.”

PSL 9 is scheduled to commence on February 17, 2024, at the PCB’s headquarters in Lahore, featuring an opening match between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United, the defending champions. The tournament’s main matches will unfold across Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi, culminating in the final showdown at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi on March 18.

Tamasha has established itself as the preferred platform for live streaming of premier sports events among fans. Previously, Pakistani users enjoyed live coverage of major tournaments such as the T20 World Cup (2022), FIFA World Cup (2022), HBL PSL (2023), Asia Cup (2023), and the ICC World Cup 2023 through Tamasha. With over 26 million users streaming Cricket World Cup 2023 on Tamasha, the app soared to the top spot on both the Apple App Store & Google Play Store, and emerged as the second most searched tech term on Google, right after ChatGPT, in 2023.
