The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) has released a statement in response to the recent reports of the loss of internet access and cell service in Balochistan.
The statement states, “Voice and data services have been disrupted in Quetta, Ziarat, Khuzdar, Loralai, Pashin, Chaman, Panjgor, Zhob, Qila Saifullah, and Qila Abdullah due to severe rains and flash floods in Balochistan and damage to optical fibre cable. The matter is being resolved in an unusual manner. PTA is keeping an eye on the issue; we’ll keep you updated.
All throughout Balochistan, the recent severe rains have caused misery. An unprecedented degree of destruction is being done by the water. The rains have caused storm drains to flood, damaged roads, and reduced land access to the province’s key cities.
